ILLANI

Every project begins with a spark — a site, a challenge, a dream, a set of practical needs, and, inevitably, a budget. My practice approaches these complexities with a personal, relational, and deeply collaborative mindset. We design buildings that prioritise human comfort, respond intelligently to climate, and settle naturally into their landscape. From the outset, we consider natural ventilation, seasonality, orientation, wind, and human scale — shaping spaces that feel intuitive, grounded, and alive.

Materiality is central to my design philosophy. I work with honest, expressive materials — raw textures, bold contrasts, and tactile surfaces — to bring depth and personality to each space. Interiors are never an afterthought; they are an extension of the architecture. We are deeply involved in all interior finishes, joinery, and spatial detailing, crafting layered, tactile experiences that give buildings soul and character.

No two projects look alike because no two clients are the same. Our process is rooted in dialogue: workshop sessions where we explore the “why” and the “why not,” uncovering the values, needs, and aspirations that guide the design. Together, we shape architecture that is both practical and poetic — a meaningful reflection of the people who inhabit it.

We remain intentionally hands-on with all finishes and details. From private homes to corporate environments, we design fixed elements, interior finishes, and, where required, complete fit-outs including furniture and soft furnishings. Every detail is considered an integral part of the whole.

As a small practice, our capacity is limited by design. This ensures that each client receives a genuinely personal experience and direct involvement from the principal architect throughout the journey. We commit deeply to every project we take on, shaping authentic spaces that are rich in personality, grounded in context, and crafted with care.
